The international forum on the Treaty of Lausanne, which was signed in July 1923, under the sponsorship of the Rojava Center for Strategic Studies (NRLS), has just begun in the city of Al-Hasakah. The forum is titled “Lausanne: course Correction , Stability , and Regional security .
The forum brings together over 150 individuals, including politicians, human rights activists, and researchers specializing in the Middle East, from Kurdistan and other countries. It also includes a delegation from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, led by the Co-Chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration, Berivan Khalid, as well as representatives of political parties, civil society organizations, research centers in the region, and media institutions.
The forum, will be held for two days, in the city of Al-Hasakah. The program includes a documentary presentation on the Treaty of Lausanne and the crimes resulting from it, a photo exhibition showcasing the consequences of the treaty, and three dialogue sessions.
On the first day, participants will discuss several topics, including the political situation in the region before the Lausanne Agreement, a historical analysis of the agreements concerning the Kurds in the 20th century, and the Treaty of Lausanne and its implications.
On the second day, participants will discuss the current situation of the Kurds and the challenges they face, strategies to confront the genocide targeting the Kurdish people, and the optimal solution to the Kurdish issue and the region and how to bypass the Treaty of Lausanne
